Maroochydore Beach Access Visual Story
1. Arrival and Parking
The arrival and parking area at Maroochydore Beach is located near the Surf Life Saving Club at Beach Access 146. The car park includes a drive-in and drive-out layout with asphalt and concrete surfaces. Marked accessible car parking spaces are positioned close to the amenities block and beach access points. Concrete and pebblecrete pathways connect the parking area to surrounding facilities, with some sections bordered by low wooden bollards and garden beds.
The amenities block is located at the rear of the parking area and is constructed from corrugated metal. Tall blue lamp posts provide street lighting throughout the space. The parking area is positioned adjacent to the beach, with a lifeguard tower visible nearby. Step-free pathways provide access between the car park, amenities and beach entry points.
This area is used for vehicle parking and pedestrian access to the beach and facilities. Activity levels may increase during weekends, holidays and surf events. You may hear ocean waves and bird life from the nearby shoreline. The area is exposed to sun and wind, with limited shade provided by small trees and the amenities block.
2. Amenities Block
The amenities block at Maroochydore Beach is a single-storey structure constructed with timber slats, stone and metal panel panels. It is located adjacent to the car park and is connected by concrete and textured paved pathways. Bollards are positioned to separate pedestrian areas from vehicle access. A water drinking tap is located near the entrance, and a covered roof extends over the entry points.
Ramps with handrails provide step-free access to the building. The facility includes public toilets and shower areas, including two accessible toilets and unisex showers. The layout supports access between the parking area, pathways and beach entry points.
This area is used for restroom access, changing and washing after beach activities. Activity levels may increase during peak periods and events. You may hear nearby traffic, people moving through the space and occasional water flow from taps or showers. The area is exposed to outdoor conditions, with some shade provided by the roof and nearby trees.
3. Access to Beach
The beach access area includes a pathway with metal side rails leading from the paved section near the car park and amenities to the shoreline. The pathway surface transitions from concrete or compacted gravel to loose sand. A bike rack is positioned on a raised wooden platform adjacent to the pathway. Low vegetation, including bushes and trees, borders the path and provides some shade. Safety signage is located near the beach entrance.
This area is used for pedestrian access to the beach and for bicycle parking. Activity levels may increase during weekends and sunny conditions. You may hear ocean waves and people in the surrounding area. The sand surface may feel loose and uneven underfoot. The area is exposed to sun and coastal wind, with limited shade available.
